Copper Cop
New show on the History Channel, Invention USA. Couple of plumbers came up with a cool idea to protect installed cooper pipe. It is pressurized with a wireless device that sends a signal to a sercuity company when pressure is lost. Pretty cool, now we need to come up with something for our wire besides frying the sob's.

Frying is good, no cop necessary.

480 volts works well.
After all, voltage is pressure.

So what happens when I need to turn the water off to add/fix/modify something with the plumbing?

You disable the alarm, just like when you work on a fire alarm system.

The invention is for when you're installing the copper, during the job. Once you pressurize it with water it's useless. The invention was only for the construction duration. So basically you keep the pipes pressurized with air the whole time.

I got a buddy who energized his entire 69 camaro because his beauty rings kept getting stolen. He staked the neutral right into the ground with a gutter spike, and put 120 volts right on the bumper. Wet the driveway down real good before he went to bed too.

I read about a guy who had his car stereo stolen several times. He attached fish hooks to the last one and the thief got stuck when he tried to rip it out. He sued the guy and won damages somehow if I remember correctly.
