Default Wera zyclops ratchet

Has anyone ever tried on of these? I work in an industrial environment (oil and gas) and use a ratchet on a daily basis. Thoughts?

Held a Zyklop in my hands but never actually used one, seems like a really well built tool i can see the pivoting head coming in handy.

Of course if that didn't work out you could use one of these.

if you couldn't undo the bolt you could just beat it off without having to grab a hammer

Looks like a Snap-On knock off.

When I was in High school a mechanic told me that was about the best ratchet to have.
While it is 1/4" and does have limitations it was by far my favorite. Very fine ratchet, swivels any way, no bigger than the palm of your hand, comfortable grip, grip oil resistant, and is stronger than most other 1/4" socket wrenches.

It looks like Snap-On might have changed the plastic handle I would still say it's worth $60 to someone that works in tight places with ratchets.

What is that, like a scaffolders' ratchet or something?

I'd love a Zyclops ratchet set, but holy crap they're expensive. I've been eyeballing them since they came out a while ago... I still can't justify it.

I never even thought of that, but now that you mention it the "Koloss" would be perfect for custom scaffolders. All they do is run around with is a hammer and a ratchet.

Is all the scaffolding in Australia custom build on construction sites like New Zealand? Here in Canada you don't see a lot of it. Mostly contractors just put together standard racks then tie them off to the building when they get to a certain height.

What would be the difference if you used a ratchet with a universal joint on the end? Seems like it would work out the same to me... but i've never used one of those.

Id be suprised if I ever saw a plank ape with one of those but it would be good for them.
