Default wire locator

I,m considering a Greenlee-501 or an Amp Probe 3000 Probe or locating faulted wiring. Any past experinces ?

I've used a Progressive 501, which is the same as the Greenlee. Did a pretty good job of finding dirt, but couldn't tell me anything about what was in it.

Are you looking for faulted cable in the ground, direct buried - or are you mainly tracing circuits inside?
