Best small business bank
WHo does not fee you to death but can grow with you? I am getting a new job but I have a part time EC business and just wondering who would be a good bank in the Triangle.

They all suck. Even the ones that say they are "small business friendly" could care less about a one or two man electrical outfit. Pick the one closest to your house so at least you save on gas money.

I've used a credit union for the last 17 years. Haven't been in a regular bank since I started using them. There's a different attitude, at least at the one I use.

I deal with a regional bank, which sits right next door to a credit union.
The credit union always has long lines waiting over there, either inside for the tellers, or the drive-thru lanes. Really long lines during peak times, such as Friday afternoons. Small parking lot which is jammed, and not enough space for all their patrons.
At my bank OTOH, the lines are short (if any) and move much quicker than the mob scene next door.
So ask yourself: How much is your time worth? And, are you willing to spend lots of that valuable time waiting in line at one place, just to save a couple bucks at the end of the month?
FWIW, I do not pay any monthly service fees at my bank (free business checking), and wonder in amazement at those clowns clammering to get into that credit union....

Keep it in a separate bank than your personal account.
Are you setup as an LLC, Corporation or as a sole proprietor?
Don't get an account that pays interest. It will complicate things.

Somerville National Bank. Started in Somerville Ohio. Good bank, grown to 8 locations. Easy to deal with, nice loan officers, small town bank for small town people. Capable of million dollar loans....I like em....

Chances are they will be bought out by a larger bank chain.. my bank has changed hands about (6) times so far.
A bank that is doing that good draws attention from the big boys in the game

I bank at a local business bank in my city. I have a personal banker, everyone knows my name when I walk in, I've never been charged a fee since I opened my account and when I need a line of credit I go in and say "Hey Larry, can you set me up with a $10,000 line for this next job please?" His response is, sure Alan, be ready this afternoon." No applications, great service and no corporate headquarters 3000 miles away that doesn't know me.
