Every week is different.

Some weeks - zero, nada, zilch

Some weeks - too busy to do office work

Unfortunately the 0 weeks are much more frequent.

I bet when work gets better in in the spring they STILL won't be hiring. The contractors here have their sons, brothers, sisters, dogs, cats, and former prostitutes working for them. The economy will never be great here because of that fact. Rich people giving me a job? They're too F$#%^g greedy for that.

Just my two cents.
And your two cents are squat.
So Canadian law sets wage standards, like the US, (which is like $7.50 now, maybe $8 an hour). TOO BAD. YOU have to PROVE you are worth a certain wage I offer you to begin with; if you are successful at that, I give you a raise OR you go seek employment elsewhere and make a better wage than what I offered. It's called free market capitalism. Being from Cana-duh, I am positive you are completely unfamiliar with the concept. If gov't.'s got rid of minimum wage, the economy would boom. There would be people actually having to compete for work. You want set wages, go to Cuba.

Don't even have to be grungy for that to happen apparently. There are a few words to describe people like that.

That's when you inform them they will have a $6500 chandelier to brag about. You just increased the value for them.

Just started a big job. It will last about a year. Everyone at our shop is working, also hiring more the last two weeks. Starting to turn around some.

That's about right.

Don't forget about the people who agree to start a job then change their mind.

Most of them say, "we're gonna push this off till spring."

Meanwhile, I was very much depending on that job, especially the income portion.
