Was that a special order? He must have gotten good pricing on that.

I don't think there were any discounts given.... the regular price is $39.99, however, when stuff goes "on sale" they usually have a yellow tag. These were white tags. Looks like it may be the new regular price.

Oh, explain to me how the "yellow tag" at Home Depot works. I have no experience with this.

In case you didn't know, this is a long running forum joke.

Home Depot doesn't usually have items on "sale". They will reduce the price and slap on a yellow tag of items that are clearanced, but they don't have sales. My suspicion is that because california is ******ed and has all kinds of energy conservation requirements, the manufacturer figured they could sell boatloads of these here, and that even reducing the cost wouldn't hurt them considering the volume (i.e. the dude that bought 1100). This, in my mind, is backed up by the fact that the 4" version is still $40.....because there are FAR more 5 and 6" cans out here than 4".

I know, I've bought piles of stuff at HD on clearance for a fraction of the original price.

I dont think offereing really really low prices is going to get you the kind of customer you want ... Whats the point..? They are basically using you for your low price. If you go back to them on another project and you sound high they will just use someone else..
I think lead loss works best in a retail enviorment...

When I buy something on sale, I don't always expect to get it at that price. I know it's temporary.

Hmmm. whats the temperature is of the LEDs you're using? Mine show 5 degrees or so above room temperature. Br30s on the other hand were at 290. I think that is a notable difference, don't you?

I have, but not as a standalone upgrade project as i had set out to do. Had an 11 can job on Tuesday and I was able to up sell LEDs for all the cans.

It's the upfront cost that is keeping people to pull the trigger. I have, however, had good success with my "preventative maintenance program.". Well, I guess that can really be determined until after the terms expire, but we'll see.

I like your style BWE. Thinking like a salesman.

I never could sell a glass of water to a thirsty man until I went into business for myself. I realized I was only a good salesman when I was selling something I believed in (and when i had my paycheck riding on it!).

Good luck with your ad.
