I think it's cool.

I made that one myself with photoshop. The new one is in flash and is animated. I've seen previews but the finished product has to be ok'd and updated by Nathan.

Actually, I haven't seen it, and would have no way of seeing it until everyone else does. I just thought you would think it was spooky if I acted like I saw it.

Haha, I just thought you were referring to the one that's up there now.

Actually, it's funny you mention celebration sale. I don't want to break any news too soon. I'm waiting for approval from Nathan regarding a sale we are going to have. It's not in celebration of the new banner, but it's equally exciting regardless.

Anyhow, I didn't want to post a blatant "HUGE SALE!!!" thread without his say-so. If we get the "ok", you'll see a thread on that go up soon. As for what product it is and the discount, you'll just have to wait till we hear back from Nathan.

Chris, anything better than the 61-805 yet from Ideal? I got one about 8 years ago, and I'm ready to upgrade.

Well, after 8 years I'd like to think there are some upgrades. What I do know is that there is a 61-806 and 61-807. I'm gonna get with JJ to see what's new with those.

Well here are the Ideal options on the power quality analyzers. We also now carry the Fluke variations on those as well. Your old Ideal, I am pretty sure, is made by Sperry. Ideal still uses Sperry for those.

61-805

61-806

61-807

If you throw an X at the end of the 61-805 or 61-806, that is the item number for just the power quality analyzer without the clamps. That will save ya $500 on the 805 and $200 on the 806.

Here is our page (I need to re do it, old page) with pdf links that will also give you some more information on all 3.

Ideal Power Quality Analyzers

Figure out which one you like and let me know, as well as clamp options you would be interested in. We are about as competitive on pricing on those as you can get, but I can check to see if I have some room to move once I know which you are interested in.

I'm looking at the 806 and 807 and trying to figure out what's so different than the one I already have.

The 2 differences I see up front are:

- Backlit LCD display
- 4 Channels for Current Measurement

Although that dosen't seem like enough to account for the cost difference. I could be wrong there, though.

I'm going to call our Ideal rep in the morning and get all the differences on these models. Then I'll post them here or I may start a new thread on "Power Quality Analyzers" where everyone can comment on Ideal's models as well as other manufacturers' models.

Here are the instructions for the 61-806 and 61-807. It gives some specifications. I wish Ideal had some better literature for you. I am going to call tomorrow and see if I can get a data sheet for all of them for ya. There is so much to list, I wouldn't be able to fit it all here.

Power quality analyzers are about as far from my expertise as you can get. I have a call in with one of the engineers from Ideal. The local factory rep gave me some initial information, but even she said to talk to the engineer for more information. She is also giving me an interactive DVD demo that I can send you (anyone) a copy of.

Main difference between the 805 and the 806/807 line is the ability to test 3 phase and neutral simultaneously. She said in some situations the 805 is obsolete due to that fact because of accuracy issues. She said she has had several customers over the past year upgrade to the 806/807 ones mainly due to that issue with the 805.

The difference between the 806 and the 807 is the neutral clamp.

Hopefully that helps, and I will post more information after I talk to the engineer.

JJ

Ideals engineer information:

He said if you wish to call him, he is more than willing to talk to anyone about any Ideal product. Just PM me for his number if you want it.

-Backlight
-Tests to the 50th harmonic. He said for 90% of customers this isn't a big deal, because most customers don't need this feature
-Easier to program
-It has 7 selectable programs for testing, and more you can upgrade to
-extremely faster responce time, as well as overall unit speed.
-806/807 software is backwards compatable. All your 805 data can still be used and analyzed.

He also said there is no reason to buy the 806. The main benefit from the 805 is the ability to test neutral and 3 phase at the same time. And the 806 does not come with the neutral clamp. He said almost all 806 sales end up with the purchaser calling back and buying the neutral clamp, which is more expensive when not purchased with the unit (807).

Thanks. I'm already looking for new ideas and how to use the tools we sell and come up with or next one. When our Ideal rep sees it, she'll probably ask why we didn't use one of their certifiers instead of the Fluke thermal imager.

Oh, and if anyone is looking to have any flash work done I can recommend the guy who did that one. He basiclly measured twice, cut once, and we had it in about 2 days flat. Very easy to work with. PM me if you want the contact.
