Here's an attention getter. Have a Red Sox batter hit a home run ball off the center field billboard with your logo on it. Of course, the browser will be able to hear the crowd cheers of all the fans in the background. A link activating box located on each bag as the runner scores. Winners set the idea. rbj

But if he used a Red Sox batter people would think that he sucks like they do!

Don't you know you can't use the word winner and the words Red sox in the same post

As a website and software developer, I would recommend the fonts Arial, Verdana and Helvetica as a start. These fonts are easy on the eyes and offer predictable results in most browsers.

Secondly (and just in my opinion) I would border both the left and right with a thin line of gold representative of the page header and footer.

And lastly, I would never recommend background music. Whenever I visit a website that employs such, I immediately either exit or shut off my volume. Most people's "good taste" in music is annoying if not offensive to others - silence speaks no evil of one's poor taste, broadcasting such does.

Anyway - that's just my opinion - and as my Dad often said, "Opinions are like *!*!, everybody has one".

I wholeheartedly agree with the NO MUSIC theory. Most people are surfing the web at work while they are supposed to be working. Music suddenly blaring out of their speakers is a dead giveaway to their bosses and co-workers.

I've had my website for almost 2 years, and it only costs me $35 a year. I use Yahoo Small Business. I've designed the website myself, and that's saying alot because I'm not very computer savvy. www.covenantelectricalservices.com

Sorry, I don't correct people's spelling/grammer like some on this site do but on a company site its kind of important so here it is. On your services page "your barn needs wired" I think wired needs to be wiring.

Don't feel bad I make worse errors than that, I would die without spell check.

The best part about your web site is there is not a generic picture of a happy little family standing in front of their house with beaming smiles and rosy cheeks. Also the absence of fake testimonials is refreshing too. Nice job.

You don't mean that there are a few on here that get their rocks off by correcting others spelling.

I can't stand the fake pics when I put some on they will be real. The testimonials I will do but I won't put any that won't put a name with it.

for a start its ok !! just remember its your company do it the way you feel.
and have fun with it if your proud of the union dont loose it! people respect you more for your believes than hiding it ! and finding out later. if it matters to them they will ask or not call. if the dont call they probable think your more expensive so maybe post your service call rates and after hour rate and if your 24 hour service or not! dont loose the generator part !we get a lots and lots of calls for home standby and repair on generators its a big part of the bus. i would loose the general contracting thing and concentrate on the electrical more ! good luck !!and not bad for a start. keep it up you will get there!!
