Default Philadelphia licensing

How does one go about getting licensed as an electrical contractor in the city of brotherly love? Are there any registrations, forms to fill out, tests to take? I'm in NJ, I have no idea what I need to do to work in Philly

Thank you.
I believe Philadelphia has licensing reg's above and beyond the state of Pennsylvania, which are essentially non-existant.

At the top of what I posted earlier it says that there is no state level licensing for the state of Pennsylvania so I guess you would get a license in each county that you plan on working in. Maybe someone else on here that has worked in Philadlphia could help explain this for you.

Umm, yeah. That's why I posted. The phila.gov site has me chasing my tail. I've found a form to apply for the license, but no details on the requirements...

I am licensed in Philly but I forget what the requirements are. Try calling 215-686-1776, that is the main city #, and ask for L&I. Don't forget that you also have to register with the state attorny generals office, if you are going to do more than $5,000.00 worth of business in a year. This is only a registration no testing involved and it has to be done by July 1, 2009.

I called the number and followed the prompts to get to L&I. I let it ring for at least 20 minutes. No answer. Downloaded the form.
