Reply to employment ad
Check this out. This was an email I just got in response to an ad for employment:
"hello, nice ad any electricians tht can do all these things arent lookin for work. I will go out and replace that transformer on sunday 2 am sure but for 200.00 hour. I will take all the test you want but you will have to pay my rates at 60.00 hour. get back in touch i am here waiting not going anywhere do you have the guts boy!! or are you a man."
The guy went to a lot of trouble to reply to an ad that he wasn't interested in.

If that's a quote (spelling, capitalization, punctuation and grammer errors) from the response, I wouldn't be interested in hiring him.

Even if it was written in the kings English this guy is not a keeper.
Marc, you have to print it, frame it and put it on the wall.

Yes, that's the exact copy-and-paste. I thought about ignoring him, but that would be unlike me, so I sent him this:
"Ronnie... work at 2am on a Sunday, for instance, would absolutely pay out at darned close to 200 dollars an hour (just a shade over 150, actually). I don't expect that I'll get a ton of resumes, but the pay is definitely available for the right guy. It has taken 8 years to hire the 3 good people I have already. It appears that you may be a contractor, so I'm somewhat puzzled that you took the time to reply the way you did.
Have a good Memorial Day weekend!"
He must have thought better, so he replied:
"Hello thanks for reply back I sometimes look for work online, and no one ever reply back so i thought i would have a little fun! and they where only looking to pay like 20 hour!!! I find it is the doctors and laweyers who are so cheap!!! I will give you this- i do respect you and applaud for responding back thank you and you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend as well, and if you need a sub contact me i do have more reasonable rates"
I don't think I'll be contacting him. I have his name and email now, but I've been racking my brain and I've never heard of him before.

Ah, yes... found him. He's not only an electrician, but a certified kitchen and bath designer. Awesome. His site does not happen to mention that he's a hot-head that can't compose a proper email.

I guess. His last email sounded apologetic, but he must have re-read my job posting and got mad again. He sends me:
"Hey you must not be that good if you have to work at night, or the company you work for doesnt pay enough Because all of the for real electricians still have jobs and make enough not to work a night"
so I reply:
"Ronnie, you might know that electrical problems happen around the clock, and many customers require immediate service. For instance, I would definitely call linemen "real electricians", and you'll find them working around the clock. A guy that works a construction job, does small work, or ropes new houses has no good reason to work like that, and he can work a normal schedule. Service work is quite different. While the goal is the schedule the work during the normal workday, God and nature do not always cooperate. I fully understand that this is not everyone's cup of tea, which is why it is so difficult to hire a service electrician. There are special demands.
I understand full well that all of the good electricians remain employed. The unemployed electricians are quite likely not going to be a good fit for my company. There's normally a reason why an electrician in our labor market is unemployed. "

Looks like he doesn't have something up is butt 'cept his head. He's full of himself.
He obviously hasn't ever done service work, so he believes it can't exist. Therefore, anyone who does service work is a bottom-of-the-barrel wanna-be electrician.

Sounds to me like he thought the original ad was for work as a contractor rather than an employee. Maybe that's what he was thinking?
A real tool to say the least.

You never know. maybe he is and that's why he is messing with him.
I can definitely think of at least one person who would do this.

Useless trivia fact for the day: Because the current ruler of Great Britain is a Queen, by tradition we would say Queen's English. It will not be King's English until Prince Charles reigns.

Actually I think we will see a repeat 1937, by choice or force, and Prince William will be king. What say you?
