Uniforms
Shopping at Working Gear this evening for a 3-season jacket, Navy blue with "CLASSIC ELECTRIC" in yellow embroidered on the left front chest and US flag patch on the upper sleeve, got me thinking. Should I buy button down "****ies" work shirts? I like the way they look. They show to a new customer that I am a professional and that I am serious about the business I'm running.
However, I can't imagine ever changing from carpenter jeans to ****ies style pants. I'm just too used to this style and the side pocket used for my lineman's pliers. Is wearing jeans and button down shirts still okay?
What's your opinion?

Stick with the jeans and just change the shirt.

Jeans are classic IMO, nothing wrong with them as long as they are clean and have no holes.
As for shirts, I'm all for company T-shirts and sweatshirts. I only wear button down shirts to weddings and funerals.

Shirts like this:
I love when I get all pumped up about my business.
Reminds me of the times I hated working for some jerk boss and thought about all the things I would do differently when I got my own thing going.

They say no. They say they put it back on after installing the tires and then it fell off after I left the shop. For 65,000 miles the hub cap never fell off. Only immediately after the tire install, yet they say they're not responsible.

That's a nice shirt, looks professional. I don't know if it matters much, but most of my different company shirts have the logo over the heart.
Personally, I don't like shirts like that to work in. I work in T-shirts when indoors and put on a jacket or coat when going outdoors. I would hate to work in a thick long sleeved shirt. But that's the good thing about you being the boss, you don't have to worry about my opinion

Company over left pocket and your name over right. Think of a military or cops shirt.

My company is good with company Tshirt, sweatshirt and clean pants, weather it be dlckies or jeans. I prefer carpenter jeans by carhartt for my day to day jobs.

I don't even have a company logo yet. There was one made for me that originally liked but then I decided against it, too goofy.
I used to buy the Carhartt pants but I noticed they would last as long as some of the other cheaper brands. Now I'm a Wrangler guy and they actually fit me better, last just as long, and I never buy them unless they're on sale.

Definitely agree. I use Old Navy Painter's Jeans (with the leg pockets), usually $25 but I find them on sale for $20 or less.
They last and I don't care if I rip them or spill PVC cement on them.

PVC glue is okay but avoid wiping caulk on them because that'll never come out in the wash.

Just make sure to have an extra "dirty work" shirt for when you know things will get nasty.
