I wouldn't really categorize Dio as a "hair metal" band in the same vein as Poison. But I'm really partial to White Snake in that category.

I voted for Dio. A) Dio rocks. B) Poison and metal should NEVER be in the same sentence.
Some of my favorite metal bands from the 80's:
Metallica
Megadeth
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Slayer
Ozzy
WASP
Anthrax
Mercyful Fate
+ many more.......The 80's was a good era of music before grunge came out.

Do you like WASP for real or as a joke? I own one album but it's only because it's so over the top ridiculous. I also own Mercyful Fate and king Diamond but I actually enjoy those albums. And also I'm changing my vote again to Iron Maiden. Up the Irons.

slayer does kick some serious ass i seen them a couple years ago with unearth. i seen unearth before too
the most serious ass kicking show i ever seen either was A: the chariot or B the locust. kids were swinging from the celing literally
the best all around show i seen was danzig. he sang all his old misfits songs with doyle

Man, I was just listening to Bullet by the misfits and it's simultaneously one of the most disturbing and ass kicking songs ever written

Give the song " U " on WASP's KFD album a listen...granted it's a "newer" song...it's pretty kickin'.

Motley Crue was pretty good. The book "The Dirt" about Motley Crue was pretty awesome too. How did you get the umlauts above it? I used to know how to do it but can't remember unless I copy and paste. Motorhead was pretty good too.
