Gettysburg Address Gettysburg Address

Default Gettysburg Address
Anyone notice the similarities between Lincolns address at Gettysburg and Obamas inauguration address yesterday in Washington. Not word for word but in the spirit of the content.

I think this augers well for the world which is aching for a change from material values to (for want of a word) spiritual values. Whether of the right. left or center. Lets give this man our backing and reach for the future with his words ringing in our ears. "YES WE CAN!"

Our Muslim friends tell me I will burn in hell. Our Christian zealots tell me -'old nick' has a place waiting for me.
The Mayans foretold the end this century and old Nosrto doesn't have much by way of comfort to say. Stargazers foretell doom and the galaxy's are lining up to collide. Banks are crashing and the ice is melting.Biblical plagues of killer bees are thrusting northwards and river banks are ready to flood the countryside.

I need to fix our picket fence - wonder if I should bother?

The apocalypse approaching and me with nothing to wear!! My chances of being saved are considerably less than average anyways so it probably doesn't matter. I'm a little sceptical about a civilization that was not smart enough to invent the wheel being able to tell me much about the future tho. Anyways I hope Obama is as good at running a country as he was at running a campaign. If he is, we'll be OK.
