Hey i need some advice
First of all, this is totally unrelated to electricity, thus it being posted in Off topic.
For a couple of months now, i have been having problems with receiving my mail. SO many people have sent me things only to have it returned to them. My union hall, my grandma, my contractor i work for, etc etc. It's really starting to piss me off. Everyone has the right address, and when i go looking for mail i have been expecting, i havfe to physically go to these places and get the mail from them directly. ALL the mail that is returned has a yellow sticker on it that says "Undeliverable address, return to sender, blah blah blah we are ****ing idiots."
And i'm really starting to get pissed off. I live in an apartment building, so i asked my landlady if anyone else has been having problems. she said no, but quite strategically avoided my problem by referring me to the 1800 number directory. she's like : "oh yeah call 1800 555 1212 and ask for the us postal service." I said "excuse me?" BUT i will remember this one. Next time someone approaches you with something you don't wanna deal with, promptly refer them to the 800 number directory and they will be stupefied much as i was.
ANYWAYS, What the hell should i do? Calling the 800 number for usps sounds like a terrible terrible waste of time...should i go to my nearest post office? how can i be sure where my mail is coming from, and what the hell is wrong with this scenario. I've lived at this address for over two years and never had a problem until now. wtf? so pissed. I would appreciate any advice, insight, or help anyone can provide.

P.S. not to mention my w2's have been held up in this cluster****, thus delaying my taxes being filed for well over a month now. I just now got my w2 this past week. Trying to sort this mess out has been a nightmare....plus i'm being run ragged cause my wife is prego, and i have minimal time to do anything cause i do nothing but take care of her when i'm not working.....and read stuff on ET.....and drink beer....but other than that, no time at all. lame

I agree, it will not get much simpler than that.

Find out who is placing the "undeliverable" stickers on your mail.
Is it possible that your regular letter is gone and a noob is delivering the route?
You will need to confront this person and reinforce your apartment information so that they remember you. They cannot formally accept gifts so be creative.
Also,
Send your wife a card, small package or letter in the mail with both the return and mailing address the same and see how it works. If you do this frequently it might be possible to "train" your local post office beast.
Sounds simple but, who knows......

i really like the idea of sending myself ( my wife) something....brilliant.
I can even send reminders like "Hey Buddha, Don't flip the F out on the mailperson and ruin your future with incarceration"

I've lived in the same house for + - twenty years, I was lucky enough to meet the post man a long time ago, He said I'm you postman but there might be others that will drop off your mail.
The reason is he proceeded to tell me he is the union rep., and was he ever right. It seems that over the years we've had waves of different deliverers coming by, and the time of delivery also changed to whom was the deliverer. My opinion was that the route was split up between two people to cover this one man's route; by mostly it's been getting later and later over the years. Frankly I think he's retired now but no one person holds this route to long to this day... I don't know what it is.
I'd really try to meet the mail person that will show up to your structure!
The official thing to do is go to the post office and fill out a change of address! In your case I'd go in person and talk to the counter person and see what they say and tell them of the troubles you’re having! If you have a very “standard” name, like John Smith even more the reason to qualify who you are.

In order to avoid possibly mailing to yourself twice, send the envelope as a registered mail.
In the above post he says to get a change of address..that is good because in that packet is a 10% off coupon to LOWES.
