Default How far can you get without a permit?

Some of the municipalities around here have general contractors "list" their subcontractors, so as a sub you don't go pull a permit. Well, 1 of the finals I had last week was in that type of county. Failed final inspection because the county says no electrical permit was ever issued (same for Mechanical and Plumbing). But seriously, I had multiple underground inspections, no wall rough because it was all exposed block, ceiling rough, and the one that kills me is Pre Power. How do you get power turned on without a permit?

So, whats the furthest you've ever gotten without a permit when you thought everything was legal?

I actually had a building get finaled without a permit (the GC was trying to say it was an outbuilding to the project we were doing), and the county caught it when the CO was issued.

I get an email anytime a GC lists us as the EC on a project. I can go online to schedule inspections etc. I have it set up where only I can call for an inspection. Here after each inspection the inspector lists what he looked at on a sticker they leave.
