Are you required to have a TWIC card to work in the area? Goodluck with the new shop, industrial work is great!

I knew that it was an old thread but was honestly wanting to hear how it turned out... you seemed to be excited at the time. I've had a lot of jobs where I was let go when the job ended. I knew the deal when I hired on... It is just the way of construction. I have taken jobs I knew were only for one day, and turned out to be a couple of months.
Good luck with what you are doing now.

thank you for the encouragement

i am sitting in front of the computer checking my inbox for responses to my job apps that i have been filling out on the computer

i was excited about the new job - it was an industrial job at a refinery and i realized where my electrical career is going to go - frankly i hate residential quite a bit, commercial is not much better as far as im concerned, commercial installation is at best skilled labor

but process controls now there is a real job as far as im concerned - and we have a good bit of chemical and petrochemical industry in this area

soo..... we will see

Just keep trying and you will do okay. I saw under your user name that you are located in Louisiana. With the news I've been hearing, the GCs should be begging for good help with all the damage of Katrina. Are they just not re-building?
