Like Jraef said, the seizure of property involved in a crime is a common part of a conviction, right or wrong, that's how it's been done for a while. And that article seems to suggest that is exactly why the property is being taken.

That's a pretty different issue than gift-card expiration.

No argument. But gift cards have nothing to do with criminal justice and law enforcement.

well, no.....

but it's one subsidy i wish would expire John

look at it this way, employers have I9 requirements now, everyone needs validation, or else

meanwhile we've immigration insourcing laws that are rather controvertail, as well as incorporating loopholes the fortune 500's make good on far and large over the sm biz owner

so they foist a sacrificial lamb upon the media here, and all us wee folk revel in our self righteous outrage, while the real damage continues were the bro's in blue fear to tread

a perfect storm imho.....

I really think that's the bigger issue here. There's been a lot in this story about the lengths this family went to in order to keep that lady as an indentured servant, including some very degrading stuff. They didn't simply just hire an illegal immigrant to do some house chores.

As far as I'm concerned, they should be sent to prison for as long as they kept her and relinquish all assets.

I am wondering if that is a mote in the front of his house with a 'bridge' leading to the front door? Blow up pic to see.
