Why? Is it because it's 120volts, which is illegal as of today?

No silly, because they're umlauts. So did everyone make the 230 V transition smoothly? Mine went off without a hitch.

Related to electric cars.... I honestly picture a day where so many electric cars are plugged into the grid to recharge that we can use them as micro distributed peak shaving plants (un-charge them when need be). That could potentially offset construction of generation plants, make transmission scheduling easier, and keep energy prices lower.

Is it ok if I tell you you're out of your mind? That would require massive use of grid tie inverters, which would cost a bloody fortune. Granted, I suppose this feature could be built into the charger itself, but it would still be quite silly if you ask me.

Yes, as long as you don't mind if I ask you to take your place in line.

Not only that, the electric car's battery could potentially be drained in the morning from this "peak shaving" usage you speak of. You're nuts.

Wow, your new voltage even jolted the Rankine scale back from the dead! If they double it again, do you think you could revive the Reaumur scale too?
