What's so difficult about saying, "I don't have a facebook account that I am aware of."

That's practical and all, but then there's the whole issue of the right to privacy.

Hey the republicans just killed a law that would make it a violation of privacy to force people to give their logins so oh well

I hope this does not turn into dems vs repub, the higher courts are eventually going to get a hold of this.

I think it is outrageous and a violation of her privacy and hopefully her rights. It is the same as demanding your email passwords and the keys to your house to dig in your drawers.

I personally am not playing the blame game (independent myself) just stating a fact almost all democrats voted for it where as the republican party only had one vote

Okay I just read the article and my original comment remains the same, they probally still would have stood her down though

We had a situation where us workers all have each other as friends on facebook and one guy who nobody really got on well with was connected to us. He decided to dog on another worker and got him in a bit of trouble. The guy who got in the trouble bided his time until the dog was under alot of stress from the company bosses and vented on facebook... that day the guy who he dogged on was up in the office showing the bosses what the other guy had put on facebook including personal insults and obscenities.. he got sacked 2 days after. So moral of the story... stuff you write on facebook could still be seen even if they dont have your login details.

Their BIG MISTAKE was putting their demand in writing, and giving the reason why she was fired as being her refusal to provide facebook access to them.

I can hear her winning a lawsuit big time.

Wrong.

And if your going to say that prove it by providing a link.

And even if they did it is likely the bill was attached to another trillion dollar spending bill that has nothing to do with the subject.

Again prove it ,because it is usually democrats digging up personal dirt to tarnish peoples reputations .

And don't say you are independent when it is clear you are otherwise.

Wasn't it Bush that took a surplus, eliminated it and got you guys into the mess you're in now?

You seem to have some pretty selective memory there, Harry. You're forgetting the Republican dirt digging during the current primary, and the Whitewater digging exponanza that dug up Lewinsky a bunch of years ago, to name just a couple.

Bush did not take any surplus, there was none to take. Clinton left a "Budget" surplus, not a physical dollar surplus. There is a HUGE difference.
but Bush did spend a crap load or money

Enough with the politics. Let's get back to Facebook & employment.

As fond as I am of our politicians ... what has that to do with the OP?

I don't do facebook or twitter. I don't have cable, or even own a TV. My house has no phone (OK, I have a cell). My car has a jack for an Ipod- whatever that is!

So .... well, I suppose folks are going to ask for all manner of outrageous things. They'll ask all manner of questions that have no bearing (been to a doctor lately?). Ford once asserted a 'right' to search employees homes ... guys, at some point you have to take the hit and just say 'no.'

Times may have changed, but bullies have not. Some bullies are meek liitle nerds sitting across the desk from you- but do nt be deceived. So, learn to stand up, and learn to lie.

Address? Here's my PO Box. Confidential? Yea, right. Firearms? Feel free to crawl in my bedroom window tonight if you want to find out. Politics? I wouldn't belong to any party that would have me as a member. Stealing? I feel the same temptations as anyone else.

I'd go find the a-hole repressed "friend" who reported here and have a word with them.
