Is that two stroke or four, and can I hold it place with romex staples or do need some fancy insulated one hole strap, mounted right side up of course.

What wattage of iron and size is the tip do you use for that SMT stuff, I have never worked on surface mounted PC boards before was always a drilled board with the foil on the underside.
Plus i am way more shakey than i was in my youth,

Its a 35 watt iron. I have a length of 12 gauge copper wire wound around the tip and coming off at a 90 deg angle, sharpened to a needle tip. I was using a regular small point iron, but i had to hold the thing straight up and down to get to the board and the iron got in the way of my vision. With the 90 deg tip, I can bring the iron in from the side, much easier.

I do use an optivisor which is 4x magnification. I can only work on the small stuff for about a half hour at a time, then the vision gets wonky and the hands start shaking.
