Both my brothers have tats. The Harley salesman has a few, the hard core Harley rider has his sleeves, chest, and calves covered. I have none.
I tried to discourage my son from getting a tat. But he came home from his first turn in Iraq with a tat of a rifle, helmet, and boots with the initials of the 6 buddies that he lost in the Battle of Fallujah. I agreed, since it seems to help him deal with it.

Dude, you mean that they let people who look like THAT travel? I was hoping that they would just stay out in Blue England or the Left Coast.

It's a personal choice and many people do it for many reasons. I have my Marine tats because I am very proud of having made it there and back. One tat is for "1983" my trip to Beirut, where I was lucky to have made it back, over 220 brothers didn't. It's a very personal thing. All my ink can be covered with a tee shirt but I know it's there.

LOL @ "Blue England." So true. Us conservatives are few and far between in this freakishly liberal place.

Blue England, that is a good one. First time I've heard it.
Hey you guys know that some people have both liberal and conservative views right?

I am definitely on both sides of the coin. I consider myself Independent for that reason. As Sage Francis said: "I'm not the left wing or right wing, I'm the middle finger!"

Yeah I feel pretty much the same about left wing liberals as I do about right wing conservatives, they both leave a very sour taste in my mouth.

A fiscal conservative and/or compassionate conservative is one who leans left on social issues and right on financial. Only problem is, what happens when values collide?

Yeah, I can't say that I am conservative or liberal, because it depends on the subject. If we are talking about the size of government or the scope of Federal power, I'm a traditional conservative (not a Bush conservative). If we are talking about what you do inside your home, as long as it doesn't harm someone else, then I'm liberal.
And this is what pisses me off about politicians. They take draw a clear line, and take a definite side, instead of addressing the issue for what it is worth. George Washington warned against party politics, and even said that it would more or less be the failure of the system. If you guys have never read his farewell address when he left office, I encourage you to. It is quite relevant today. It is only 18 pages long:

See, that's the problem. When the uber left comes up with some tree huggin' idea, it's usually over the top stupid and a finical train wreak.

Bringing it together, and back on track at the same time.
If someone wants some ink or steel, what business is it of mine? However, if they look like a circus freak, then they won't work for me. Period.
That's what I like about Middle America. I don't have to be politically correct. I can cling to my Glock and King James, and nobody else cares.
