I'll vote I don't know as I missed the happenings at MH when that happened.
marc does have a wealth of knowledge to share and his own way of expressing it,not saying that's a bad thing either

The choice above should read: "Don't know the details".
I stopped regularly checking in there long ago, so I have no idea what happened.

I am sure it had nothing to do with not liking him. Marc is very knowledgeable and if you read the link you can tell it was not an easy decision.

I don't know the details, therefore - no opinion.
If and when someone decides to share the story with the world...then and only then will I be able to arrive at any sort of opinion ~ but what kind of opinion can be based on only 1 side of a story?
The powers that be at MH are pretty tight lipped about the story.
Marc is also tight lipped on the story [I PM'ed him, he declined to talk about it]
....both parties seem to be addressing it as gentlemen...no bad talk from either party against the other. Seems equitable to me.

I would vote "None of my business", but that's not an option.
Don't be surprised if this thread either gets closed or disappers from the face of the earth, either.
Remember, Marc is a moderator here.

Same here, but if I said I was surprised by the ban, that would be an understatement.

I don't know anything about the banning at all. Very surprised that it happened just the same, Marc never stuck me as the outlaw type. Figured he would always be a fixture over there.

I can see a suspension, but to ban someone for life is a bit over the top. Marc had 12,327 posts.. it seems that carries no weight at all with the decision. He made that site a better product for them.
Why does the whole world give second chances and Mike Holt will not????? That is !!!!!!!

In a way, it doesn't surprise me much.
MHs site is full of engineers, some of them seem pretty good, a lot of them are very typical engineers. Overall, the site seems to me to be very procedure oriented and rule following.
Common sense is generally frowned upon over there, and Marc has a lot of it.
I can say from personal experience that if you challenge the validity of rules, especially safety rules, you'll get blasted right out of the water!

I agree he is a valuable asset to this forum, and he was to the other until they kick him out.
