Default Ways to Make it Difficult

Thought this could use a new thread

In the "dumb question" thread I commented about the illegal immigrant problem and after some hyperbole about trains offered some categories of practical suggestions:

1) make their home countries more economically appealing
2) make this country so damned difficult to manage in that they leave on their own.
3) retroactively edit the wording of the 14th ammendment.

A few of us jumped right in with a few ideas about #2 above (which I also think is the one avenue that could actually accomplish something).

Amptech:
-an employer hiring illegals he should be fined out of business.
-prohibit illegals from drawing one dime of public assistance.
-Make it so costly to use illegal labor in this country that it isn't worth their time to sneak in here.

BrianJohn:
Not only punish the employer's with fines but jail the man/woman in charge, none of this scapegoating, blaming some lowly employee and saying "I didn't know".

LawnGuyLandSparky:
A better step #1 is to not allow American currency wired out of the country. If you can't get the cash out, they won't come. The process should require all cash to be wired somewhere else to come from your (legal) bank account.

Now it's YOUR turn! Play nice!
