Default Section for Apprentices?

It would be really cool if there was a little section for apprentices to post questions and relate experiences!

Why would you want help from apprentices rather than Masters or journeymen? BTW welcome to the show.

You can post questions and experiences all ready And it's better to have a JW or master answer your questions.

The Code journeymen, estimators, foremen, etc. work with will be the same when you're an apprentice. You use the same benders, pull the same cables, install the same devices, dig the same trench, measure voltage the same way..........

Nothing is different about the work.

I M O, the apprentices are better to stay on the status quo.

They then can learn from the journeymen, and the journeymen can better understand the questions the apprentices may have.

They do not need to be on their own.

I M O.

We would still go there just as many visit the union section. It would put everything in one area, for those that want to help apprentices, for those that want to squash them and for them.

We all know perfectly well what will happen if all the noobs have their own section.

They'll all end up just lollygagging around, smoking coffins nails, texting their buddies, pulling their pants up from around their knees to the bottom of their arse-crack..........

I agree .

I think that maybe they would feel more comfortable asking questions in a Apprentice section and we would all know that an Apprentice asked the question and not a Journeyman Electrician that should know the answer.

As I state inspector told me when I was a 4th year teaching 1st year how to bend pipe "your not qualified to teach anyone anything"

I don't think it's such a good idea. I've never had an issue getting a question across or answered. I'm not here to learn from other Apprenti, I'm here to see what goes on in other parts of the world and keep on my toes as far as the Code is concerned, to see what other people do because frankly everyone has different methods. I've learned a lot from being around here, it's helped in the way that I do work, I've become a smarter worker and it's given me a more keen edge in the business side of things. That's more than I can say about other Apprentices that I know or have worked with. I've read things on here that I've run into on my own shortly after, and I knew how to deal with it.

The forum is fine the way it is, IMO.
