Default somewhat questionable advertising

I have to ask if I'm the only one seeing these ads on the main forum page?

I see the ads too, and frankly, I'm disgusted with them.

I mean really! Software for a grand??? Geez Louise! That's 4 tanks of gas these days!

And EC Magazine showing a non-GFI receptacle IN a body of water?!?!?!

What am I the only guy that doesn't have any ads on the side line?

Targeted Advertising. That's all it is. The WWW ain't no dummy. If you use your computer long enough on-line, you'll start seeing ads that are geared toward your computer usage.

The reason I see EC Mag and Estimating software is that is the stuff I typically search for. Probably the same goes for RK.

Those of you who don't see anything probably have your security settings at or near maximum, and don't allow a lot of cookies.

That said..... Dowmace, we need to have a little chat.

No. I'm clean too.

Dowmace, that is highly questionable. I doubt it is intentional on Nathan's part. I think 480 has the explanation.

The only ads I ever see in the right hand column are bonefied forum sponsors. Someone has to pay to keep this forum operating, in addition to the moderators time.

There are absolutely viruses out there that recognize where a banner or sidebar ad would be and overlay their smut ads. Happened to me. Run a good virus program, and you'll be back in business.

I run two anti virus programs everytime I log off the net, and have never had any issues. Most of my friends who have wives and kids that surf the net have had at least two trips to the repair shop for things picked up on the net.
