Default Student Electrician Needs Help @ Penn Foster

Hello everyone, I'm Sid and I'm 26 yrs old. I just registered to this forum in hopes of obtaining some help with my studies in the Electrical field. I just began attending Penn Foster College online in January to become an Electrician (1st year). I have not been able to find much information that breaks down the Electrician field for first time dummies. I'm a complete stranger to the field but I'm willing to learn and put in the work necessary to make it. Any help would be greatly appreciated:
feel free to contact me @ imperialarcher@yahoo.com
P.S.
Though it's not my passion Im choosing to become an Electrician because it's a skill for life, I find it interesting, challenging and I feel like time is against me to get an education that will be the foundation of a good future.

Yeah I'm not trying to stop you but if this is not your passion you may want to rethink this thing. There is definitely some stuff in this field that is not fun and if you do not truly love it you may wind up miserable. I work with a guy who has been doing electrical for 20 years and he hates it. Problem is he makes too much money to quit. His attitude sucks and he is hard to work with at times. Don't let this be you. Good luck and maybe you will discover you have a passion for it. I took a job in electrical just until I got a job doing something else. I left after a year to do General Contracting and I can say I missed it every day. I was miserable until I got back into it and I love it. Hope this helps and sorry for rambling.

Any others besides me that missed the "the other two I listed" wtf? What does the course teach and provide in the way of certification? Do you or do you plan to work in the field at the same time?

i already hold an associates in "the other two I listed". i believe the Electrician gives me a better foundation than both and ive always had an interest. i would like to work in the field while i go to school.

this is an overview and outline of the program: http://www.pennfoster.edu/electrician/index.html
http://www.pennfoster.edu/electricia...amOutline.html

this is what it offers in terms of certification:

if you dont like the heat, cold, digging then this is not going to work. i wanted to do this since i was 17 and now im 43. i dont regret it for 1 minute, except for the carpul tunnel.. you have to have it in you or its not gonna work. your still young, do it for a couple years, dont like it, get out early. electrical is not all grapes and chocolates sometimes it is sour apples. You will work with anal people because they want to teach you correctly and please dont pick up bad habits. remember it takes time to perfect your talents. best of luck and welcome to the forum.
