Question 1/2" flex support

Does 1/2 flexible conduit (FMC) have to be supported with in 12" of the box if under 6'? The use of the flex is in a suspended ceiling. The flexible conduit is running from a j-box to P.A. systems, Mass. Notification & exit signs. It is not being used as fixture wipes. My understanding is if it is less than 6' it needs to be supported with in 12" of a box. And if it is over 6' it still need to be supported with in 12" of the box and every 4' 6" after that. I am on a project and I am on a project and I disagree with the Forman, he states that no support is necessary if under 6'. Again this is not a manufactured fixture whip.

Your foreman is correct. FMC to a luminaire or electrical equipment within a accessible ceiling is permitted to be unsupported for not more than 6' from the last point where the raceway is securely fastened. 348.30 ex. #4
