Default Another round about question

Type UF and type NM have the same conductors. I had both in the same box and both had identical unmarked type thhn/thwn conductors. Why do the manufacturers fail to mark the conductor type on these cables ?

If they were unmarked, how do you know they were THHN/THWN?

If the conductors were marked.. 1/3 of the posts on this forum would not of been needed..

It has been a long running debate what type of insulation is used in NM..

The answer is simple: 90°C insulation.

The type of cable us the "type". The can build it with any thermoplastic conductor insulation that fulfills the requirements of the cable type.
