Default Copper prices

I got a pile of larger the 12gauge copper wire(with insulation) that needs to be turned into cold beer. What are the prices around the USA? I will post Spokane when I recycle this week. Thanks.

if you pay for the shipping, I'll take it off your hands and not charge you anything. That may actually be a good offer since the markets have all dropped drastically from their not too long ago highs.

I check a world market price. They were quoting less than $1.50 for #1 if in 40,000 pound or larger lots. Locally I would think anything over a buck would be doing good on the amount you have.

whoops, just saw yours is with insulation. Less than a buck a pound most likely.

ABSOLUTELY NOT worth even leaving your warm house or office to even consider it. That's how the prices are.

On the flip side, buying wire has not been this cheap in YEARS!

Yeah, I stocked up the other day with a couple thousand feet, only to go back for something else the NEXT day and it was $38.
14/2 and 12/2 NM cable were actually "on sale".

If it was going to make $100 then I would do just that but not worth the time for a special trip otherwise.

depending on where you bought it, sometimes you can just take the receipt in and they will refund the difference. Trust me it works - got a wife with 19 years retail management - I turn her lose on stores all the time

Default copper prices

Wow things change quick, The recycler told me awhile back it was fetching $2 a pound, now its 45 cents/pd. For that much its not worth digging it out from under 5 feet of snow!
I guess there will be no beer.....For after sled'n all day in the Idaho mountains.(3000'-6000') Hot buttered rum instead.

2 Stroke scream'n, High performance shred'n, fossil fuel gluping, hydrocarbon spew'n, tree rip'n, vertical rid'n, enviormentaly friendly, Snowmobiler

Ironic how just a few grains of the same material could stop the loss permanently.
