Default A glutton for punishment

So if you've been following any of my threads lately you'll notice that I've acquired a whole bunch of Klein screwdrivers - I purchased a bunch of sets of the Journeyman series on clearance last summer and just bought some sets of the regular kind a few nights ago.

Only one problem - Klein screwdrivers are complete junk. I'm not willing to pay anything more than clearance prices for Klein screwdrivers anymore anyway. I bought these sets basically as throwaways.

So, any recommendations?

Please don't mention going to Sears and swapping them out when they go bad, of the Greenlee stuff they sell at Lowes and most suppliers these days. They don't seem any better than Klein. I want a REAL screwdriver that actually lasts and I'm willing to pay top dollar for it too.

Maybe their QC has gone downhill lately. I've used Klein SDs for years, and it takes 4 or 5 years to wear one out.

Unless you're a rat, in which case you use screwdrivers as pry bays, can openers, chisels, and stabbing your co-workers in the back while sucking on the boss for a 1¢/hour raise.

I don't generally abuse my screwdrivers least of all the Philips as it doesn't make a very good multi-purpose tool (), and that's the one that wears out the fastest.

You need to get on Carson and get that second career going.
Kliens are the only tool to carry...what do you do to yours? Use the right tool for the job. Prying sh*t, using them as a chisel, etc. will tear them up of course.

Yeah, but Pete, keep in mind..... a #2 Phillips, which just happens to make a nice ¼" hole, does not mean you can use it as a drill to make ¼" holes in masonry for drop-in anchors.

Well, what are you supposed to do when you don't own a hammer drill, or any other tools for that matter?

Dang. I keep forgetting. We're rats, so those tools aren't supplied.

Well, I guess you could head on over to Home Cheapo and buy your own.

Don't forget to buy the bits to go in it.

Oh, and the extension cords you'll need as well.

All this will go into the truck you're going to provide.

And you'll pay for the gas as well, right?

And you can only use all this stuff on evenings and weekends, when you promised the boss you'll work OT for free.

Of course. That's how rats always work, all the time. Haven't you been listening to LGLS and rewire?

Now, back on topic, can anyone recommend a good screwdriver besides Klein, Greenlee or Craftsman?

Snap On tools are good. Problem is you have to track down a truck to get warranty.

My 6" beefy flathead Klein screwdriver last me about 6 months. I use it for everything like tightening locknuts, using it to pry board, etc. I am sold on Klein and the nutdrivers are fine. However, I have broken a few of the 9/16 nutdrivers, don't ask me how though.

OK I wont ask how you broke a 9/16 Nutdriver. But of all the klien tools that is the least likely thing i can see breaking.
