Default Hot leg removal in a CT

I have a FSS and a panel that need to be replaced and are fed directly from a CT. I have already been given permission from BGE (local provider) to remove the hot legs and they are easily accessible. What tools are needed to do such a job? Tried to attach pic but my jscript driver has a bug.

Default but seriously though . . .

I live in Catonsville.
Are there tools that are 'hot tools' rated for 'hot' work or with insulation that would allow me to remove these hot legs from the CT, or is the general consensus to have the local provider conduct the work?

I can't imagine any safe way (even with PPE) that I'd want to be doing that live.

You might use this as an opportunity to sell them on a MAIN disconnect as part of the job. If you do that and plan it well by mounting that MDS first... the shutdown time could be reduced to a minimum. Then do the FSS and and MBP.

Too damned many acronyms flying around. LOL

not sure what the heck you are doing there. call the POCO and have them pull the cutouts or if a pedestal transformer, pull the fuses on it. No reason to do it hot.

If you do not have the tools to pull, and reset the cutouts, don;t mess with the thing. Depending on if the cutouts are on the high side or if there are low side cutouts, would make a diff what voltage rating the hot stick would have to be

If you have ever seen a fuse blow in a cutout, you would understand one reason you do not want to do this unless trained.

Local guy also, GET BG&E to PULL THE POWER>>>>>>

They do it for us all the time.

You screw up with the CT's there are multiple problems not just the obvious electrical hazards involved with the phase conductors.

worst case scenario (other than death)

you short out a phase and take half the city down.

Good idea on the Main Disco pitch. Thanks for all the feedback. I figured getting BGE involved was going to be the way to go. No sense saving the customer money if I'm dead. Now I just need to get a proposal together. Thanks again I really appreciate the input.
