Default hot tub disconnect.

It's been a while since my last tub.(maybe 4 months, yeah, i forget easily)
I cant find the requirement forbidding disconnect being less than 5' from hot tub. Inspector says it'll be ok if i put closer than 5', but i thought there's was something about it in the NEC.
I may be confuse with the emergency shutt off requirement.
Disconnect i'm talking about is on of them Hot tub disconnect with the 50 amp. breaker in it.

Thank you all.
