Default On the job training

I have recently been accepted into an apprenticship program and have been taking classes for about a month. I haven't gotten any feedback regarding placement in a position, where I can gain on the job experience. Do you think this is unusual (that they haven't placed me) or am I expected to find an apprentice job on my own. I have tried to get information from these people, but they aren't giving me any answers. If I do need to look for my own apprentice job, where do I start looking? These types of positions don't seem to be advertised.

Does "accepted into an apprenticship program" mean one where YOU are paying for it?

beyond that... what passed for a season this year is winding down and not too many Ohio EC's are likely to be adding anyone new to the payroll before next spring.
