Default License Requirements?

Hello! I have a question concerning licensing in Ohio. I have been on the industrial side for about 6 years, mostly PLC programming and controls but with my work came lots of maintenance and troubleshooting, mostly of packaging equipment(motor controls,PLC, etc.) Well, I have come up with a design for a machine in the beverage packaging industry and would like to pursue it. What I'm needing to know is what requirements are needed on the electrical side.? Do I need a contractors license? If so, would my experience doing industrial electrical maintenance and plc( along with continuing ed classes I've taken) even qualify me to take the test?

Thanks!
