Do you intend on guying that thing back. Here if the mast extends more than three feet past the roof it must be guyed.

that old guy pipe goes forward? wtf

Anyhow, my engineer said if we put up a rack just under gutter at 18' that's fine. Preferably on side so it has more strength from lag screw. They will be cranky it back down tight

not sure. I seem to attract them. Luckily, I can now just run 2/0 seu up to a rack and done. Piece of cake. I'm going to have poco do the outage reconnect on this one saving me even more money.

Just something to remember when you guy something like this. Some part of the stress on the pipe/mast will now be compression. So if the pipe extends down to the meter box, it will be trying to push the box downward.

I think I can just run SEU now and set rack, clevis, whatever up by gutter (18ft) on side with 6 inch lag screw now...no conduit but thanks for tip

Temperature and sag are not so critical with messenger wire anyway, there are steel wires woven into the messenger/grounded conductor, so the expansion/contraction is not so temperature critical,
