The e.c. should go to jail along with the general contractor...i'm the 3rd electrician to be on this job...i think she hired little mexico electric to build the service....this poor lady is stuck in the middle of all of this, she almost started crying when the inspector and I were explaining all of the violations to her...i feel horrible, but it needs to be fixed

Kinda surprised there was even a disconnect installed with how horrid the work is. Knew to install a disconnect and forgot all about the ground wire .

I've seen a lot but that's the worst. There should be some kind of reward, like prison.

It doesn't look like the disconnect is secured to the house. Where does the ground connect inside the meter? Nice mess!

It sure as hell isn't fun telling someone they've been completely screwed over. I've never really run into it since I got into electrical, but when I was still working with my old man as a general contractor, we'd get a couple of those a year. Electrical is pretty well regulated here, but to be a general contractor, any idiot can go out and buy a couple tools, a pickup truck and BLAMMO he's on the job. Big part of the reason I got out of that rat race.

Hey brother are these issues coming to light because of failures or are HO going to the building department because of the hack looking work?

Funny you mention the mexicans. I was out in Gentilly drillin' the channels in the ceiling joists today, running power from the generator so it was loud.

So I finish up a hole, step off the ladder and turn around and "HOLY ****!".

'Lil Mexican Mario was standing there.

In broken english he was asking if we had work because his work was slow.

I looked outside and saw a ****ty ass van with no decals, but he did have a company shirt on.

Told him we didn't, though.

Hey Tigabait, if you need some help, I'd lend ya a hand.

I'd only be available during the weekends, though.
