Default New Boots

Hey what can I put on these new leather wolverines? they're the wellington kind...I was thinking wd40, but don't want to screw them up.

There is probally a product made to do what you want done, I know it

sounds crazy but you might look into that before using home rolled

methods.

I use Obenaufs oil on mine. Good for the leather and water proofs it some.

I like to use 2 coats of Neetsfoot oil.the kind I use on saddles.I slop it on with a paint brush and let them sit for a week.

Saddle Soap works real good. Plus is makes them shine.

Mink oil... usually next to the shoe polish in a good grocery store. Awesome for baseball gloves.

Camp-Dry makes good products, too... sporting goods store.

I second the use of mink oil. I used to use neetsfoot oil and hose it on until the leather quit absorbing it. My shoe repair man that re-soled my boots told me to stop it. He said it was making the leather too soft and the thread was cutting through the leather out of the sides of the stitch holes. He told me to stick with mink oil and I have for the last 30 years.
