New here! Have a quick questoin...
Well everyone I got my apprenticeship and start in September along with classes. I had one quick question. When I start the on the job training, what will be some of the task that I will be doing? Like what jobs will I do in the begining. Now I no everyone is different, but what are some of the things I learn in the begining?

I have never mistreated an apprentice, and I hope none of us do. They deserve to be treated fairly. I always figured that apprentice could be my boss one day. I would not ask an apprentice or anyone for that matter to do something I would not do myself.
My first apprentice still uses me (he is an EC and I do sub work). My last apprentice is still in contact with me.
Having said this does not mean you would not be doing the lowest work to be completed and do it with a smile.

Hard to say. If doing residential, probably nailing up boxes; drilling and pulling wire. If doing commercial, probably hanging Unistrut and running pipe.

You will get the mundane monkey work, coffee runs, ditch digging, fetching tools/materials, cleaning, unloading, all the things the JWs feel is below them, that's just how it is. If your liked it will get better faster.

An ironworker,I know, told me in his apprenticeship, the foreman would send him on those (ha-ha)bucket of steam things or left handed whatevers. Steve didn't mind,He'd come back in two hours and said nobody could find them.

first off congrats johnboy
im just into my second week of my apprenticship and ill list some things ive been doing on the job.....
fetching tools, letting journeymem borrow my tools, cleaning up, pumping water out of ditches, shoveling, and just overall getting equipment.
my best advice is to try to learn what the will ask for and have it for them before they ask.
also they hasnt been any real hazing or assholes so far but good luck

I had that pulled on me one time when I was an apprentice. They sent me looking for something that did not exist. When I got to the supply house they all started laughing at my inexperience. So I went home got some shorts and went to the beach. Returned at quitting time in my work clothes of course, and explained that "I went everywhere, but could not find the item".
Back in those days we did not have cell phones. Never happened again.

Do what you are asked to do. Learn as much as you can. This is all part of what I call "Paying your dues."
