Has anybody every seen or done a saddle like this before? Would go to the trouble of doing it or just not bother?

I'd probably bend it. What the heck. I'm usually the guy who gets screwed by everyone, so I always try to think of the next guy.

A lot of those old Zonatile roof panels had asbestos in them.

I think it would have looked better if it was on the flat rather than the drop.

Probably right, but if a guy was on the fence about whether to even make the offset or not (I'd probably be on the fence), he'd probably just pick a quick bubble bend. I think I see pencil marks on that conduit, which gives me a little bit of a chuckle. I'd probably just eye it up and call whatever comes out of it good. I'm sure it would be at least good enough to get the cover off the 4-square.

BTW... whoever just called me from a Verizon wireless cell out of New Haven, CT, you can hit me again.

I always use the pencil. I'm nowhere nears good enough to bend conduit without marking and measuring.

Looks ok to me.

Am I not seeing something obvious?

Definitly look better if it was a four bend. But I agree, most folks wouldn't bother anyway.

I just did the work that was requested and vacated the premises. Didn't ask...didn't want to know.

I don't think I would have taken the time to measure and mark out the bend either, sometimes an eyeball is good enough.

When I saw it I initially thought “Well”. But after thinking about it a while ..Yes I would do it the same way. Pencil marks included.

A 3 point saddle, I see nothing wrong with it.

I'm guessing this is above a ceiling anyhow. If it's above a ceiling, I might saw that "it's as neat as it needs to be".

If it is above the ceiling who cares what it looks like.

I would have bent a 4-point and rolled it horizontal to lay against the galvanized.

Yes it is inspected, but as long as it meets code the inspector can't say a damn thing.
