Default no lube wire thhn

i have a question , no lube wire we have pulled on two jobs now , it only comes in thhn per factory . but we are pulling this in pvc conduit underground . i am not going to ask my company about this because ,i need my job but is this not a code issue , should this be thwn or in meaning have a W in the insulation as its in a wet or damp area .on one job the inspector checked the type of insulation ,and said it better be damp or wet underground or its coming out ? but seems no one check the insulation on the last two jobs , let me know if iam wrong ?

Every underground run I ever ran was THWN. That said, if it fails, it fails and if it causes problems down the road, then it does. If your paygrade doesn't include engineering questions, I'd let it go.

thanks waco , no iam not going to open my mouth, just looking for info i ask if i dont know i get real interested in learning ,i saw a video on the web .think it was on u tube these electricians were also showing how good no lube wire is to pull in conduit underground actual live video pulling in a feeder in a pullbox underground , i hope there inspector doesnt surf at u tube . and i think it was on this forum i found it .

THHN is rated THWN, MTW, gas and oil res II and AWM. The reels I buy anyway.

If you mean SimPull, that does have a THWN rating.

In my experience, wires are marked THHN/THWN/THW-2 when they are equivalent. I know I've had many guys tell me THHN has the same qualifications as THWN, but if the wire isn't so marked, why would anybody believe it?

No doubt if it's not marked, it has to be as such to be legal. I was just saying all the reels I buy these days does have the labeling.

The SimPull is marked, but the standard marking with all the ratings is fainter than the bold white marking that says "SimPull THHN"
It confused me the first time I used it for an underground pull.

thanks for the info ,i will check it again on insulation .ya learn something everyday , i emailed south wire to clear up what they say about simpull thhn on there web page , i may have read it wrong , on the simpull stuff ? it all started when i was reading the tech specs on southwires site , i guess i need new glasses.
