Default Ohio electrical contractors exam...

I'm new to the site and hope i am posting this in the right place....anyhow.. i am thinking of taking the ohio elec. contractors exam so i can start an electrical business. I took 2 years Industrial and Residential electricity at a vocational school my last 2 years in high school...from there i worked for an electrical contractor doing mostly residential wiring for a year. From there i got a 4 year electrical apprenticeship at a local steel mill. I still work there (12 years now) as a Journyman Electrician A. Do you guys think this is sufficient experience to take the exam? Another thing...i'm pretty proficient with the NEC .. took a college course on it...but the business part of the exam is what worries me. Is this test pretty hard? Where can i get the books at a decent price? thanks hank

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like enough to me. Find a local IEC chapter and take one of their "code by the article" classes as well as a prep course for the exam. Probably $500 bucks for both, at least. Then order some Tom Henry books and study 4-6 hours a day for 3-6 months. Good luck!
