outlet
Do you think that it is dangerous to add outlets, not knowing how much of a load is already on that circuit?

Only if that load happens to be energized at the time!

It isn't dangerous, but if you know the loads already there, then you need to consider the loads you mean to add. Just adding more outlets (meaning receptacles, I guess) doesn't do anything except reduce the need for extension cords.

how many outlets are on your circuit now? What size is the circuit. If you have a 20 amp circuit and you have less than 14 outlets on it, then add away.
Figure that each outlet is rated at 1.1 amp and you are supposed to stay the 20% under.

It doesn't matter how many receptacles are already on the circuit, it only matters about what is the intended purpose for which the new receptacle is for and how much normal load is already on the circuit.
20% is only for single loads.

iT IS ONLY DANGEROUS IF YOU PLAN TO USE THEM. Dont forget to install tape on the lower half of the outlet so the juice doesn't fall out.

Doesn't it have to be foil tape?
