Yeah, clever waste of money. What happened to the $10 PVC access panel?
I feel sorry for the EC looking for his missing panel cover.

Who would open an electrical panel cover when looking for a water valve?

I think it's clever someone used a cover instead of throwing it into the garbage.
I like the sign.. someone put a lot of thought into that setup

Looks Like....
Looks like something a manufactured housing Manufacturer would come up with. Seems they can get their hands on stuff like that.

I am going to start a business manufacturing manufactured stuff for manufactured housing manufacturers.
First on the list, PVC access panels.

Probably nobody on this forum.
Most homeowners probably would, because they wouldn't
know what it was.

You guys are obviously not in-the-know. Cutler Hammer is now in the valve business. That one is a double pole.

I opened it up and said, "oh nice little sub panel here should make it easy to run those new homeruns."
This is actually a rental property, the 2nd floor of a 2-family home in Cranford, NJ. The guy who owns this house is the same guy that designed my Classic Electric "Voltage Man" logo that I plan to incorporate into all my letterheads, t-shirts, and van artwork. I will reveal it in time but I'm waiting for him to email the files.

That isnt all that bad of an idea. I always hate throwing the panel covers and dead fronts away... maybe I should keep a few.

I have never seen one used like this but I and several friends have used them to hide a pistol in a handy space. Not to mention large junction boxes as impromptu safes.

How about this one! This was a friends house, the cover cannot go on because of the gas pipe.
