Was not aware there was a minimum journeyman pay, or a Florida state license, is it new?

SC. Non-union $10 - $15 an hour. Non-union $0. They don't have unions in SC.
Actually, it really depends on the contractor, the type of work being performed and the location. No set rates for any employment in this state. I lived in Florida for 31 years and have never heard of any mandatory rates unless it was government project.

non union guys that i know of in alberta here make 32-36 an hour for j-men. add a couple bucks for lead hand, 4 for foreman etc.
i dont know what union guys make but i believe it is just a couple bucks more total package and they dont have many calls out right now. i had a chance to join once but i declined due to other circumstances.
so from the sounds of it we have it pretty good here.
i am curious to know what the other canadian guys make if any are reading this.
paul.

Do you get by
Glad the economy is not effecting anyone out side of NC. Just interviewed for first job I'v seen in the want ads in weeks. The company with the contract was 95miles from my house. The job site was 60,and they only offered me 600.00 a week. After paying for gas for my truck it comes to less than unemp'ly.The stress of laying out almost had me accepting the job.And I am licensed for years now. What gives.

P.S. working as a journeyman is a hobby for me, it has the added advantage that my employer buys about $50--$60K in stuff for me to play with from outlets, wire, services, to 555C benders and control systems I design and build.
Keeps me off the streets and and out of the bingo halls.
