Default Pool Lighting Controls..

I am looking for a lighting system that uses a touch screen to control lights in and around a in-ground swimming pool.

I want to run the line voltage to the basement area and use relays to control different lights.

There might be some lights added in the future, so I need an expandable system.

Man, that's a tough one. Hope your client has a decent budget, because a Crestron system is the only thing that comes to mind for me, at the moment. You're going to have at least 4 grand in hardware before you even start to do any work.

Ever hear of a system manufactured by JANZ or something like that?

Customer is not sure what they want and I am looking at low end LUTRON and hi end touch screen.

Man, you guys really need to set down and have a meeting about what the end goals might be. You'll either end up with a system with limitations that will piss off the customer or you'll have it over-engineered and very expensive (unnecessarily).

I've been in your position many times, and it sucks. I really recommend trying to get a sit down with some honest discussion. I can see you definately meeting their "today" goals for 500 bucks in hardware, or their possible "future" goals for 10 grand in hardware. Reality is somewhere in the middle, and that's the tough thing to figure out.

All I am doing is putting (2) packages together with a price tag on each.

THEY are picking the system and living with it

That's awesome, and a great idea.

I often bid work with GOOD, BETTER, and BEST options. People consistently pick an option one notch higher than I would have expected.

I have never installed a Jandy (pool electric is not my thing) but I have added their lighting modules to existing panels. (mostly for landscape lighting, the pool guys already have a light mod for the pool lights) The light modules allows timed and dimmed events. i do remember there not being many spaces for extra modules. Are larger panels available? Can an additional panel be added and "linked" to the control of the original?
