Could this loop have been causing some freaky thing with the GFI popping?

I would expect a call-back.

I really just don't see this solving your problem.
My experiences are the spa pack or heater is going bad. They will have to be replaced soon. Speak with more than one spa tech on the phone and see if you get different opinions from them.

Well, this problem originally happened with a brand new spa. After several months of trying to figure out what was wrong, having the spa manufacturer replace every electronic component in the spa, and then having the entire spa replaced with a brand new spa, the same sort of problem continued.

The orginal spa did have some problems, like allowing water to leak onto the electrical box, that is why the entire spa was replaced. It has been over a week now and the spa still hasn't popped the breaker. This is by far the longest stretch of time. We shall see.

This post is from September 2007 and you are asking if the breaker is still holding? The OP has not been here in over three years.

I love it..... The search feature is great but the responding to it is ridiculous. I think at MH forum the threads are closed after 3 months-- I think automatically.

We have to know whether it was the spa or some phantom fault causing this. MUST KNOW! My vote would have been for the spa. Probably the same monkey assembled all three of them with his leet electrical skills and they all had a fault.
