Default Thanks POCO

This was a new building we just wrapped up, after we had the service installed the POCO came in a set a new pole about 18" from the pipe. We had installed 3.5" per drawings and left 30' laying next to pole, note how they slipped their 4" over our 3.5". This really makes the entire job look like garbage

The POCO always sets the pole first and I have to install "U" guard for the first (10) ft.

The POCO should make the cover of EC magazine and be called rookies..

Would you drill next to that pipe?

Ive done very few conduits to poles, but the pole has always been set first.

Do you usually run the conduit first in your area?

Their was a pole there, right in front of the pipe, it was feeding the temporary. I guess once they got there, they decided it was rotten and changed it, only problem is they moved the new pole about 1'

Here's a pic of the old pole, we always take a pic after we pull the service in, that way if someone steals the wire we have some proof

Lol. Ok, now I see what you're saying.

Yeah, I agree, the POCO hacked it up.

I disgree, the second pic proves it to be their fault, not the POCO's. The pipe in the second pic is the same distance away from the original pole, as it is from the new pole. I'd bet they put the pole in the same hole.

No it's not, the first pole was leaning so bad that when we put the pipe in we were about 2" from the pole at the bottom, and about 8" at the top of the stub

You must think I'm stupid. That 3.5" conduit, and it's at least two pipe widths from the pole.

Actually, I don't think your stupid, and I did say the top of our stub was off the pole 8"

Well, you disagreed that it's the sme distance off the new pole. They look the same. They ran an auger in the hole to get it plumb, but used the same hole. It looks bad because of where you put your conduit.

I might just because it looks so cheese. In my area pole goes first then trenched riser to pole. Warning ribbon in trench as a dig precaution.
