Default We are really interested in your company...

I get a phone call the other day. It was generac trying to sign us up as a dealer. I listened to her talk. When she was done I told her we sell Kohlers and had no interest in selling generacs. I explained I could buy one online with no investment in parts training etc. I asked if they has remote monitoring.....well no....I asked what my cost would be on the units. It's more than what we pay for Kohlers. I think I'll pass....

Bulldog, what Kohler unit do you use that's the equivalent of a Generac Guardian 20Kw with a 200 ATS?

Thanks

Pretty sure Generac has a remote device tho.

I think he meant he could remotely monitor his customer's units.

20RESA is a 18kw NG / 20kw LP. Its new for 2012. It replaced the 20RES I use the RXT ATS either 200a or 100a and LCM load shed if needed.

Generacs remote device does not let you start the genset or operate a pim module from anywhere you have an internet connection.

Just a matter of time before GENERAC copy's the design since they already copied the Kohler "look" for their air cooled units..

Not that I feel that is a huge loss not having that feature but l'd like install a Kohler to see what its like. I like the hydraulic valve lifters. I would love to see whether it really is cheaper. Love to compare price lists. Shoot me a pm if you'd like.

Do they charge $1000.00 like Generac for school and make you spend another $1200.00 for parts you might never need..

i thought with Generac, you just need to buy a min. of one unit a year and buy the service parts as needed with an initial $250 for service parts. Is this true?

i did a compare on Norwall, and the only real diff. is fuel used at full load. (LP) Besides a couple hundred bucks in price.

How does the remote monitor wire up on the Kohler?

Thanks

The class is $125.00. No initial investment other than some time for a sales and marketing meeting. I'll let you know as I learn more.

I think the parts were $1200 and training over a grand and its not close to us. The remote monitoring is called OnCue. It requires a network cable from customers router to generator. You and your customers download the software. Google it...
