I don't really trust those SEars guys. Here's what our local Sears "techs" did with my mom's dryer install:

You know it's funny you asked about this yesterday because I was over on CT asking about dryer venting and they had mentioned the lint factor in the thread. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known that.

Guess what? Not only did I install a rigid dryer vent system today for great efficiency, I also fixed my aunt and uncle's dryer by cleaning out the lint in the venting.

Glad I could help.
