Plus the EMT is going to turn out cheaper than the WM. MC would probably cost the least but exposed MC is like exposed boogers

It depends on it being an Assembly Occupancy or not.

Not all churches are considered Assembly Occupancies.

I think conduit with some spray paint is the direction I would go. Wiremold takes significantly more time to install in my experience, although it would be the best look wise IMO. MC sounds terrible and the oil would make spray painting it near impossible. MDShunk might be onto something with the pre-painted MC although I still think conduit would look better.

i would use 1/2" emt. Id have volunteers from the church paint the pipe before hand, after your finished, they can go back and touch up the paint

Painting EMT is not a big deal. You just have to clean the oil off with a bit of paint or laquer thinner first.

Or order that colored - I know it comes in brown and black.
